Today CSI Magazine recognized one of Conviva’s most recent Operational Data Platform innovations, Real-Time Trends. CSI awards are among the most prestigious and competitive technology awards in the industry, and we’re honored and proud to receive it.
Imagine it’s the 3rd minute after the kick-off of the biggest football game of the year. Your NOC team gets an automated alert that indicates a connection-induced rebuffering spike, impacting only Android OS devices. It’s occurring now, primarily with video delivered by just one of many CDNs you’re relying on. Currently, the problem is only impacting hundreds of thousands of viewers, but unless it’s resolved immediately, millions of viewers will be impacted in a few short minutes, along with all the advertising revenue they represent.
You don’t have time to send the data to a data warehouse for further computation. There’s no time for your data science team to do analysis. You don’t have time for your NOC engineers to wait for an update to their dashboards so they can start fixing the problem. The game is over in 3 hours and there are currently almost 10M streams of the game playing across multiple different properties. Your team needs to act right now.
Streaming publishers face time-critical, high-stakes business situations like this every day, how to connect backend performance monitoring to what customers see and experience in the real-world in the moments that matter to them and moments that drive bigger profits.
Conviva is enabling publishers to move beyond legacy observability solutions that just focus on infrastructure performance or analytics tools that don’t connect to real-time experience and performance metrics.
Before Conviva, they have faced a fundamental technology limitation: the time delay between real-time systems used to detect problems as they are happening, and the additional minutes or hours analytics systems can take to diagnose and resolve those problems. Instead of trying to force fit a solution with existing systems, Conviva re-architected both into a single platform capable of immediate, deep diagnostics of real-time data.
In November 2022, Conviva introduced Real-time Trends to customers of Conviva ODP for Video. Real-time Trends combines all the must-have features of observability solutions—including real-time detection and monitoring, and alerting/incident management, with critical functionality like the ability to troubleshoot and conduct contextual, deep root cause and/or user behavior analysis. It also includes system- and device-level analysis on real-time data (not just data reports) all within one fully integrated platform and interface.
We wish to thank CSI Magazine and the judges for recognizing Conviva’s commitment to continued innovation to ensure that companies across multiple industries have the competitive advantage they need to succeed in today’s dynamic digital landscape.
